Manchester collective and label Mutualism return with their first release of 2020 this month: Iceboy Violet and Ur III’s ‘Bloch’.
Collective co-founder Iceboy Violet, whose track, ‘RAGE 2’, we premiered back in 2018, returns with four searing cuts, boasting forthright lyricsism exploring “urban url and irl living”. With friend of the label Ur III on production duty, ‘Bloch’ is an electrifying trip of hi-def, experimental grime that pushes the genre in new directions without ever losing touch of its rhythmic backbone.
‘Glyph’ closes the EP with razor-sharp bass stabs, a clattering rhythm and Iceboy Violet’s distinctive, impassioned flow. Check it out below.
‘Bloch’ is out on 24th March. Pre-order it here.
